The origin.A long, careful and deeply handcrafted process that begins long before arriving at our workshops.

It all begins in one of only two exotic leather tanneries that currently exist in Spain. It is a third generation family business, pioneer in the tanning of exotic skins in our country, where respect for the raw material and tradition is perceived in every step of the process.

The skin

The skins used by Malababa are certified python skins, carefully selected. They come from Indonesia, where these animals are part of the local diet, and their use responds to a clear philosophy: to make responsible use of a by-product of the food industry, always under strict regulation by the Indonesian government.

For Malababa, the total use of animal-based materials is a fundamental principle. Once in Spain, the leathers go through a completely handcrafted finishing process. They are scraped to achieve the right elasticity, washed and tanned again without chrome.
